Sound familiar?

The program is in Amman. The appeal is due in New York. The footage is on a phone in between.

Organizations working across the region carry some of the most urgent stories anywhere, and some of the hardest to film well.

×

Field footage nobody can safely use

Faces that can't be shown, names that can't be said, and no one on staff with time to cut around them.

×

One trip a year, if it happens

Travel approvals, security briefings, insurance. B-roll from one trip has to carry every appeal until the next window.

×

Crews that don't know the ground

A crew flown in on a compressed schedule misses the context, the language and the trust.

KC

“We're living in a world where video is king. And we can't just up and travel to get the content that we need. So Happy Productions was an answered prayer that fell in our lap.”

In their words

Teams with programs across the region, in their own words.

Search for Common Ground needed content from countries their own team could not always reach. Baitulmaal needed content creators on the ground in the countries where they work. Here is what they told us.

Field notes

NGO video production, country by country across the Middle East and North Africa

Every production in this region starts with the consent and safety plan, not the shot list. Here is what we have actually filmed.

Leadership convening in Doha
Field note

Video production in Qatar: Doha

A two-day leadership convening in February 2026 for Search for Common Ground, filmed by a Doha production crew. Country directors from across the region were interviewed on one set, and stills pulled from those interviews became the organization's headshots, with no second crew day. That footage became the foundation of their rebuilt brand film and a monthly-donor campaign.

Training workshop in Ramallah
Field note

Video production in Palestine: Ramallah and the West Bank

April 2026: a training workshop, a single-subject interview in Arabic, and hours of Ramallah street and city footage. Positive, dignified imagery of the city is rare and valuable, so a later version was rebuilt to lead with it. Faces are hidden where flagged, and participants sign off personally before public release.

Interview with a community leader in Syria
Field note

Video production in Syria: As-Suwayda and the south

A vetted local videographer, briefed by our producer, feeding the same post pipeline as the Doha and Ramallah work. For Search for Common Ground we filmed a long-form Arabic-language case study in As-Suwayda and cut it into a sixteen-minute documentary plus vertical and 16:9 teasers, with separate English and French subtitle versions.

Field note

Video production in Sudan

Field footage for Baitulmaal, briefed and shot at the end of March 2026 and in the client's editor's hands within three days. We were the field half of that job by design; their in-house team cut it.

Field note

How we handle safeguarding across the region

Some of what we film cannot be shown. On one convening, participants from Afghanistan and Palestine were filmed without faces, names or organizations regardless of individual consent, because the risk sits with them. Release forms are signed in the subject's own language, and your safeguarding policy overrides our defaults every time.

Field note

Also across the region

Our network reaches Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Türkiye, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Tell us the country and the sensitivity, and we will tell you plainly whether we can staff it well.

Questions

Questions we get about filming in the Middle East and North Africa

Tap a question. Each answer comes with a 20-second video.

Is the free session really free?+

Yes. The Zoom session and the three videos our editors cut from it cost nothing. No contract, no card, and you keep every file with no obligation to buy anything afterwards. Book your free session and see your story on screen.

Book my free session →
What happens on the free session?+

You pick one person close to your work, and our producer interviews them live over Zoom for forty-five minutes while we record. Our editors then turn that conversation into three finished, captioned videos for your website, your social channels and your next appeal. All you have to do is show up, so book your free session.

Book my free session →
Who can we put on camera?+

Anyone whose story moves people: your director, a program lead, a volunteer, someone your program served, or a grantee overseas joining from a phone. Our producer guides every answer, so nobody needs camera experience or a script. Bring your people to a free session and we'll handle the rest.

Book my free session →
Do you fly a crew in, or hire locally?+

Usually not. We hire vetted local crews from our network of more than 20,000 creators in over 130 countries, and our producer directs them live on the day. Your story is filmed by people who know the language and the place, and your free session is where we plan it.

Book my free session →
How do you keep participants safe?+

Every shoot is planned around consent and dignity. People sign releases in their own language, we never show minors' names or identifying details, and anyone sharing something sensitive reviews it before it goes live. Your safeguarding policy always overrides ours, starting with your free session.

Book my free session →
Can you make Arabic and English versions?+

Yes. Interviews run in whatever language the speaker is most comfortable in, and every video ships with subtitles plus any second language you need, from Spanish and French to Swahili, Arabic and Haitian Creole. Tell us your audiences on your free session and we'll plan every version.

Book my free session →
Can you film in conflict zones or places under travel advisories?+

Yes, because we don't send a crew in: a vetted local crew that already lives and works there films under your organization's security guidance. Your security team always has the final word, and if the risk to anyone is too high, we say so. Plan it with us on your free session.

Book my free session →
We're headquartered in the Gulf or the Levant. Can you work with us?+

Yes. NGOs and foundations from Nairobi to Manila to Bogotá work with us the same way: a local crew, our producer and our editors, with review calls set in your working hours. Your free session runs on Zoom, wherever you are.

Book my free session →
Who owns the videos?+

You do. Your organization owns the finished videos and all of the raw footage, including everything we record on your free session. Use them on any channel, in any report, for as long as you like.

Book my free session →
What does it cost after the free session?+

Whatever comes next is scoped to exactly what you need, from a single film to a steady stream of videos for every program, and you get the price in writing before any work starts. No surprise change orders and no pressure. Your free session shows you what that scope should be.
