The program is in Phnom Penh. The person cutting the appeal is in Seattle.

Asia-Pacific is where much of the work happens and where the least usable footage comes back from.

“Things have been great. I mean, everyone loves the videos. I think what's great about these videos are that they show these faces of lions that people don't normally see.”

Jacqui MacKenzie, Lions Clubs International

“The global network of content people you all have. When that was first proposed, I was like, I don't believe that really exists.”

In their words

Teams with programs across Asia-Pacific, in their own words.

Watsi needed patient, family and clinician stories from a partner hospital in Cambodia, in Khmer. Lions Clubs International needed member stories from Australia and Hong Kong that people do not normally see. Here is what they told us.

Where we work

Where we work in Asia-Pacific

We have produced patient and staff stories at a partner hospital in Cambodia with local videographers and a Khmer translator, filmed the 2026 Lions International Convention in Hong Kong, filmed a two-district production in Ho Chi Minh City, and covered a four-hour community day on Australia's Central Coast with 19 interviews. We have also filmed in Seoul for the Human Rights Foundation, and in Melbourne and Jakarta for Lions Clubs International. Our network spans the region, so if your programs run anywhere below, we can staff a shoot there.

IndiaNepalBangladeshSri LankaPakistanCambodiaVietnamThailandLaosMyanmarPhilippinesIndonesiaMalaysiaHong KongJapanSouth KoreaPapua New GuineaAustraliaNew Zealand

Headquartered in Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, Delhi, Singapore, Hong Kong or Sydney? We work with organizations based in Asia-Pacific the same way: a local crew we have vetted, our producer on the brief, our editors on the cut, and distribution through the Are You Happy? audience when the story fits. Time zones are our normal.

Built for the region

What every production in Asia-Pacific includes

Overnight for you, business hours for them

The shoot happens on the crew's day. Footage is in your folder before you start yours.

Translators on set

Khmer, Tagalog, Bahasa, Hindi, Thai or Cantonese, with English subtitles on every cut.

Vetted local crews

Portfolio, reel and a live video call before anyone is booked.

Consent and patient review

Release forms in the subject's language. Patients review anything sensitive.

Conventions done right

Lanyards off and dated signage out of frame, so clips still work a year later.

You own the footage

You keep every finished file and all the raw footage.

Beyond video

What we film for nonprofits working in Asia-Pacific

One production day becomes a library: the hero film for the gala, the 45-second cut for the appeal email, twelve verticals for the feed, and the quiet two-minute piece your program officer sends to the funder.

Field notes

Nonprofit video production, country by country across Asia-Pacific

Overnight for you, business hours for the crew. Here is what we have actually filmed across the region, and how each day was run.

Surgeon at a partner hospital in Cambodia
Field note

Video production in Cambodia: Phnom Penh

Two days in December 2025 at a partner surgical centre for Watsi, with two local videographers and a Khmer translator on set. Patients, families and clinicians, including the all-women ENT team. At the client's instruction the facility is never named on screen or in copy. Naming the country and the action is enough, and that constraint is now part of how we brief every cut.

Field note

Video production in Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City

April 2026 across two districts in one production, with a Saigon-based videographer and an on-the-ground coordinator moving the crew between a shared workspace and an R&D lab. Worth saying plainly: on that job the client edited in-house, and the footage taught us to be firmer about lavalier audio and b-roll coverage in the brief. We changed the brief.

Lions member interviewed on the Central Coast
Field note

Video production in Australia: Central Coast and Melbourne

March 2026 at White Memorial Park, The Entrance: a four-hour community day with more than a hundred volunteers and around a thousand members of the public. An Australian videographer captured nineteen interviews across five clubs plus drone, which became a thirteen-piece batch and a three-part series. The client also asked us to drop the stock national music clichés, and they were right. Our creator network has also filmed Lions community programs in Melbourne.

Lions members at a club event in Hong Kong
Field note

Video production in Hong Kong

The 2026 Lions International Convention, filmed across two days in July alongside the organization's own video team, and the source of 32 Lions of the World stories. We first filmed Hong Kong Lions in October 2025, at a club event and a school vision screening. The rule we now apply to every convention: lanyards off, dated signage out of frame, so the clips still work a year later.

Field note

Video production in South Korea: Seoul

For the Human Rights Foundation's Art in Protest program we filmed in Seoul, one of five cities in a series on artists and activists who challenge authoritarian regimes, alongside its Flash Drives for Freedom effort that sends outside information into North Korea.

Field note

Video production in Indonesia: Jakarta

January 2025 for Lions Clubs International: member interviews and b-roll with clubs in Jakarta, including a lion dance, filmed vertical on phones by our creator network.

Field note

Also across the region

We have a videographer network reaching India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. We have also edited client-supplied footage from Thai refugee camps into a finished series. If you have a drive of field footage and no production budget, that is a real option.

Questions

Questions we get about filming in Asia-Pacific

Tap a question. Each answer comes with a 20-second video.

Is the free session really free?+

Yes. The Zoom session and the three videos our editors cut from it cost nothing. No contract, no card, and you keep every file with no obligation to buy anything afterwards. Book your free session and see your story on screen.

Book my free session →
What happens on the free session?+

You pick one person close to your work, and our producer interviews them live over Zoom for forty-five minutes while we record. Our editors then turn that conversation into three finished, captioned videos for your website, your social channels and your next appeal. All you have to do is show up, so book your free session.

Book my free session →
Do you fly a crew in, or hire locally?+

Usually not. We hire vetted local crews from our network of more than 20,000 creators in over 130 countries, and our producer directs them live on the day. Your story is filmed by people who know the language and the place, and your free session is where we plan it.

Book my free session →
What about languages, translators and subtitles?+

Yes. Interviews run in whatever language the speaker is most comfortable in, and every video ships with subtitles plus any second language you need, from Spanish and French to Swahili, Arabic and Haitian Creole. Tell us your audiences on your free session and we'll plan every version.

Book my free session →
How do you protect the people on camera?+

Every shoot is planned around consent and dignity. People sign releases in their own language, we never show minors' names or identifying details, and anyone sharing something sensitive reviews it before it goes live. Your safeguarding policy always overrides ours, starting with your free session.

Book my free session →
How long until we get the videos?+

Your three free videos land in your inbox within two weeks of your session, with a simple review link if you want a change. For bigger shoots, we plan backwards from your gala, board meeting or appeal date. Tell us the date on your free session.

Book my free session →
Who can we put on camera (staff, a beneficiary, a grantee overseas)?+

Anyone whose story moves people: your director, a program lead, a volunteer, someone your program served, or a grantee overseas joining from a phone. Our producer guides every answer, so nobody needs camera experience or a script. Bring your people to a free session and we'll handle the rest.

Book my free session →
We're headquartered in Asia or Australia. Can you work with us?+

Yes. NGOs and foundations from Nairobi to Manila to Bogotá work with us the same way: a local crew, our producer and our editors, with review calls set in your working hours. Your free session runs on Zoom, wherever you are.

Book my free session →
Can you use footage our field teams already shot?+

Yes. Send us the link, whether it's a hard drive from the field, a shared folder or years of workshop recordings, and we'll cut it into new videos. Pair it with fresh interviews from your free session and your archive finally works for you.

Book my free session →
Who owns the videos?+

You do. Your organization owns the finished videos and all of the raw footage, including everything we record on your free session. Use them on any channel, in any report, for as long as you like.
