Build Change is a nonprofit social innovator and change catalyst dedicated to greatly reducing deaths, injuries, and economic losses caused by housing and school collapses due to earthquakes, extreme weather, and fires. They develop and scale societal solutions to overcome critical barriers to the adoption of disaster-resilient housing, empowering homeowners, particularly women, to make informed decisions about their homes
Build Change aimed to amplify its mission of promoting safe and resilient housing solutions, especially in vulnerable, low-income communities. They sought to increase visibility during key events like Climate Week in San Francisco and New York City, highlight personal stories of beneficiaries in countries such as Colombia and the Philippines, and enhance its digital presence through platforms like TikTok to engage potential donors and supporters
We attended Climate Week events in San Francisco and New York City to capture and amplify discussions on collaborative action toward a post-2030 agenda, emphasizing the urgent need for housing reform and including underrepresented voices from the Global South. We traveled to Colombia to document the personal story of homeowners benefiting from Build Change’s initiatives, with plans to extend this narrative to the Philippines. To further Build Change’s outreach, we assisted in launching their TikTok account, creating engaging fundraising content to connect with potential donors.
The campaign significantly expanded Build Change’s reach and engagement. The personal stories from Colombia resonated with audiences, humanizing the impact of Build Change’s work and encouraging donor support. The launch of the TikTok account introduced Build Change to a younger, more diverse audience, enhancing their digital footprint and opening new avenues for fundraising.
