ASEC Impact Studio · A look at what could be

Bring every donor to Africa.

Everyone who has stood in a sister’s clinic says supporting ASEC is a no-brainer. You can’t fly every donor, board member and parish to Kenya. A film library can take them there in three minutes, and its effect can be measured in dollars raised.

Your challenges and goals

Six things we heard. Each one maps to a film or a channel later on this page, so nothing here is video for its own sake.

Challenge · Reports
Not everyone takes the time to read all of that stuff.

Every program writes a 100-page evaluation a year. The data is the strongest thing ASEC owns, and it is locked in PDFs.

Challenge · Credibility
I recorded myself speaking the statistics on Canva.

Your ED presented a screen recording at the Apostolic Nuncio reception in DC. People loved the numbers. Imagine them with the sisters on screen.

Challenge · Social
We don’t have very much video happening there.

The YouTube channel trailer is a 10:40 text slideshow posted 9 years ago. Social has an audience, but no story built for it.

Goal · A wider audience
Once you go to Africa… supporting ASEC is like a no-brainer.

Your strategic plan already found what converts people. Video’s job is to recreate that visit for people who will never make it.

Goal · Growth
I think it will help potential associate members understand what ASEC is.

The board is growing associate and corporate membership with universities and congregations. They need one film that explains the partnership.

Goal · Deadline
We want to use that as our unveiling.

Board of Directors meeting and community event, 22 April 2027. Everything here is scheduled back from that date.

ROI

We don’t make video to have video. Every film below has a job, a place it lives, and a number it should move: gifts at events, donors who stay, members who sign, grants that renew.

If ASEC invests in a year of film, the goal is that it returns more than it costs. That is the standard we hold ourselves to with every nonprofit we work with.

The library

One trip. Nine films. A year of content.

Your numbers are already extraordinary. These films put faces to them. Filter by where each film works, or open any title for its treatment.

Need 01 · The homepage

Who we are, in three minutes

A visitor should understand three things before they scroll: who the sisters are, what ASEC gives them, and what changes when they are educated. Film 1 does that, then ends on one clear action: Educate a sister.

What it moves: homepage-to-donate conversion. We track every click from the film’s end card to the donate page, so its effect on giving is measured, not assumed.

Need 02 · Your ED on the road

A film she can open on any stage

Film 2 keeps the structure your ED already knows works, the statistics, and puts them over real footage of sisters at work. A 90-second opener sets the room before she speaks. Both play from a laptop or phone with no tech support.

What it moves: gifts per event. Each screening pairs with a QR code to a dedicated giving page, so every dollar raised after a screening is attributable to the film.

Need 03 · 22 April 2027

The unveiling, and one sister’s story

You asked whether to make one long film or three short ones. Do both from one capture. Film 3 follows one alumna, chosen from your published success stories, filmed in her own community with the people she serves. The Ripple stitches Films 1–3 into a 9–10 minute premiere for the board meeting and community event.

What it moves: board giving and community-event pledges on premiere night, then major-donor meetings for the rest of the year.

One film per program, refreshed every year from the evaluation data

Need 04 · Monitoring & evaluation

The 100-page report, in 90 seconds

Your evaluation reports stay the record. Each program also gets a 90-second companion film: three findings, animated from your data, over footage from that program. It sits at the top of the PDF, in the board packet, and in the email to the foundation officer who funds the program.

What it moves: grant renewals. A funder who can forward a 90-second film to their own board can make the case for renewing.

Report builder

Build a report for anyone, with the films built in

Choose who the report is for and what it should cover. The report rewrites itself from ASEC’s published impact data, and the films that fit that reader appear in it. Present it on screen, or download it to send.
